Hanson Dan

Dan Hanson, Review Approval Resource Officer

Serving as a Statutory Decision Maker, I gather a wide range key information and recommendations from our experts in engineering, environmental resources (water land and air), wildlife, agriculture, archeology, emergency management as well as extensive landowner, stakeholder, and First Nations consultation. With the support of this knowledge and advice, I carefully consider and weigh each aspect of a project application, while striving to make the most balanced, sustainable, and durable decision possible, when issuing approvals for energy projects in BC. I find the BCER to be a tough-to-beat employer, offering very competitive compensation packages, while remaining a strong supporter of personal, family, health and work/life values.

Brad Weaver

Brad Weaver, Contract Management Analyst

When I came to the BCER in 2019, I was not prepared for, and pleasantly surprised by, the level of expertise and knowledge that was possessed by my colleagues. It is inspirational to be in an environment where there are always new opportunities to learn new things that can make a difference in our approach to public service and it’s exciting to be a part of a team that is on the cutting edge of responsible management and stewardship of our beautiful province’s natural resources. It is an honor to make the connections and help with the restoration and perpetual care of our environment.

Tariyal Swati

Swati Tariyal, Senior Business Analyst

I have been working for the BCER from past 10 years and it always feels connected and great to be working with the greatest and the most knowledgeable team. I work as a Senior Business Analyst and help creating the best applications for our Industry and BCER to use and deliver the services, they require to serve the community.

To create the best applications, we collaborate with multiple contractors/resources and other Ministries to collect and present the correct and informative data. We, with the collaboration of the other contractors, internal business groups create the finest and latest technology applications that help representing the data accurately.

Theodora Borissov

Theodora Borrisov, Director, Internal Audit & Integrated Risk Management

Leading the internal audit and risk management activities at BCER has given me the incredible opportunity of getting to know every corner of the organization and appreciate the crucial contribution of every one of my colleagues. I’m proud that over a decade I’ve been part of a team committed to good governance and values centered around people, safety and the environment.

Drummond Conan

Conan Drummond, Manager, Community Engagement

In general, my role within the organization involves connecting with landowners and communities affected by oil and gas activities. I share information to improve public understanding and collect valuable feedback. Feedback is shared internally with the end goal of ensuring the rights of landowners and community well-being are fully considered throughout the life cycle of energy resource activities.

IMO the best thing about working here is the people (fun, welcoming and supportive), the work-life balance (health & wellness, work from home, and modified work week programs), and the career development programs.

Rolick Ryan 2

Ryan Rolick, Hydrologist

I am the Hydrologist for the BCER. I am the technical specialist for all things surface water as they relate to oil and gas activities. I find this role rewarding in that I get to apply my academic training daily, supporting sustainable development while ensuring both the environment and the public are protected. The BCER is a great place to work and has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. The work-life balance is unparalleled, and I feel very supported in my regular duties and ability to pursue other interests through passion projects.
